Music For You...

Music For Youth Festival 2011

Choir impress judges at Music For Youth Festival!

TCC2 had beautiful spring weather for their performance at the Regional Music For Youth Festival in Aylesbury last Sunday 27th March (unlike their debut concert in December which was badly affected by the snowstorm of 18th December).

Thame’s new Children’s Choir, Led by their musical director Duncan Aspden, TCC2 performed alongside a wide variety of young musicians of all ages and wowed the adjudicators with the quality of their singing.

The following are some of the comments received from the adjudicators Jane Sebba and Richard Deering:

“You make a lovely sound : it’s clear and pure and the intonation is always spot-on”

“A very attractive sound, rich tonally and with well blended parts”

“This is my favourite song in the world and you gave me a treat by singing it so sensitively – just lovely” (ref O Waly, Waly

“Lots of spirit …..good rollicking fun”(ref the Pirates song)

“You’re watching carefully : excellent”

“Your faces are bright and smiling”

“Your joy is infectious! Wonderful!”

“Onwards and upwards” as Duncan said after the event – the choir’s next performance is alongside Thame Concert Band on Saturday 14th May in St Mary’s Church Thame. New members always welcome – see or contact Alison Green/Sue Griffiths on 01844 292088/215680.
